Welcome to the official devlog for God Complex, an urban fantasy tabletop RPG about immortal beings who wield extraordinary power while struggling to hold on to their humanity.

What’s God Complex?

If you’ve landed here without context, here’s the short version: you play as an Elysian — a mortal who has awakened to power and been granted eternal life. You and your fellow Elysians form a Pantheon, work together to make your mark on the world, and try not to lose your grip on who you used to be.

The setting assumes modern urban play. Your Mythos (the term we use for an ongoing game) takes place in a single city — a real one, a fictional one, or somewhere in between. The game is about influence, identity, and the slow temptation of treating mortals as lesser beings.

Why a Devlog?

Tabletop RPGs live and die by their communities. We want this space to be where we share:

  • Development updates — what’s changing in the rules, what new Powersets and Abilities are in the works, and the thinking behind our mechanical decisions.
  • Lore drops — short stories, in-world documents, and Setting details that expand the world.
  • Actual play reports — highlights from our own games, encounters that surprised us, and character moments that hit hard.
  • Community spotlights — character concepts, homebrew content, and stories from the players and Game Masters in the community.

What’s Next?

The Basic Rules are live now — read them free on Project Hedron. The Quickstart is in active development and will build on top of the Basic Rules with a complete introductory adventure and pregenerated characters. From there, we’ll be expanding the full rulebook, building out adventures, and growing the world.

If you want to follow along, the best places are:

  • The Discord server — where most of the real conversation happens
  • Instagram — for art and visual updates
  • The BackerKit page — for those who want to support the project and get early access

Thanks for stopping by. We’ll see you at the table.
